The Bureau is expanding this infrastructure to improve access to this data for program evaluators, policy analysts, and researchers. In addition to issuing surveys (such as the population census every ten years and the economic census every five years), the Bureau collects administrative data related to programs such as SNAP, Medicare, and Medicaid to be used as evidence in evaluating program effectiveness and improving policy.
